Rogers Activity Center

BreakawayRogers Activity Center/Parks & Recreation in partnership with the City of Elk River, Monticello Moose Sheritt Ice Arena, the City of Buffalo and the Anoka Ice arena have organized the Spring Breakaway League.  Practice and home games are played at the Rogers Activity Center; Away games played in Elk River, Monticello, Buffalo, and Anoka.


The following levels will be available (You must have an account to register):

  • Mini-Mite -Suggested for ages 4-6yrs. Must be able to skate
  • Mighty Mite (lower) -Typically for players with one-two years hockey experience. Suggested for ages 6-7yrs
  • Super Mite (upper) -Typically for players moving into last year of Mites with at least 2-3 yrs. of hockey experience. Suggested for ages 7-8yrs
  • Squirts -Typically for players 8-10 yrs old. This is a no checking no slap shot level. Team registration highly recommended

  • Registration ends Sunday, February 26.
  • Team forming meeting for Mighty Mite and Super Mite Coaches only is
    Thursday, March 2, at 6 p.m. at Lions Park Center (1104 Lions Park Dr NW Elk River)
  • Schedules will be emailed and available at www.ElkRiverArena.com (under hockey leagues and clinics) on Friday, March 10.
  • Games will begin no sooner than Monday, March 13.

Coaching

If you are interested in coaching, you need to have a background check through the City of Elk River, regardless of your USA hockey status, once per calendar year.  Background checks are now available online.

Never played before? Players are generally more comfortable playing at their own age level, however the upper levels will have more hockey experience so make sure that your player is familiar with game rules and can skate well. See the breakaway flyer for more details.
