Administrative Assistant II (Recreation)
The City of Rogers is accepting applications for the full-time Administrative Assistant II (Recreation) position. This position plays a key role in providing executive support to the Parks and Recreation Director and facilities management (event spaces, turf, and ice). This position requires a two-year post-secondary degree in accounting or a related field and three years of accounting experience.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Administrative Assistant plays a key role in providing executive support to the Park and Recreation Director and facilities management (event spaces, turf, and ice).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION
Administration:
Support contract management activities, including rental and sponsorship agreements, vendor analysis, and financial review of service contracts.
Collaborate with facilities management on financial planning for capital improvements, deferred maintenance, construction projects, operational costs, and annual budgeting
Assists with agendas and packets for the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board and the Arena Commission.
Develop and maintain financial management processes and reporting systems across facilities and programs.
Analyze financial and operational performance, present insights and recommendations to managers and city leadership.
Evaluate systems and workflows; recommend and implement process improvements and train staff on financial procedures.
Partner with Finance Department staff to maintain compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and audit requirements.
Ensure integration and accuracy between facility financial systems, point-of-sale platforms, and City finance software.
Assist in annual budget development and monitoring.
Assist in the development of fee structures for rentals, events, and other revenue streams related to the Recreation Department.
Track facility usage trends and survey data to assist in informed decision-making.
Serve as a point of contact for the public, providing courteous and professional customer service in person, by phone, and through electronic communication.
Receive, route, and track public correspondence, directing questions, requests, and concerns to the appropriate staff member for timely follow‑up.
Assist the public with registration and reservation submittals, including program enrollments, facility rentals, and other departmental services, ensuring completeness and accuracy of information.
Support department communications by helping prepare and distribute updates, notices, and informational materials to participants, partners, and the community.
Will perform other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is generally performed in an office environment with standard office equipment and furnishings available. May be required to attend off-site training or meetings.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must have the ability to read and discern visual images on a variety of media types.
Must have the ability to operate a personal computer and applicable software (word processing, spreadsheet, accounting), 10-key adding machine or calculator, fax, copier, and telephone.
Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
May occasionally have to lift 25 pounds or more.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
2-year post-secondary degree in Accounting or related field
Three years’ experience in accounting.
Considerable experience with spreadsheet and word processing software.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Valid Minnesota-issued driver’s license that is unrestricted except for corrective lenses, or able to obtain one by appointment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Municipal experience.
Experience in convention centers, sports facilities, recreation, hospitality, or similar multi-venue operations.
Experience working with facility planning and programing, enterprise funds, public sector finance, or revenue-generating facilities.
Experience with customer-facing services and client contracts, financial systems integrations, point-of-sale systems, or recreation/facility management software.
Considerable knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) as applied to governments.
