Fence Permit

A Fence permit is required anytime a new fence is constructed, or an existing fence is altered or moved for all commercial and residential properties.  Please refer to the City Code of Ordinances 125-84.

Location of Property Lines

Permanent corner iron monuments should be located in the ground below sod level between each legally divided parcel of land. Locating the corner iron monuments is the responsibility of the property owner. The corner iron monument can be found by using a certificate of survey and metal detector, or by contacting a registered land surveyor to locate and expose the monuments or to replace any missing pins.

Lot Surveys

A lot survey is a document that shows where a property’s lot lines are geographically located as well as drainage easements and structure locations. Lot surveys are available upon requests. Contact City Hall for more information.

Requirements

-        You may not block drainage in the easement.

-        You must place the fence in the rear of the main residence.

-        Corner lots will have special requirements. Please refer to the fence ordinance 125-84 

-        You understand that by placing your fence in the drainage and utility easement that if there are any problems in the future, you will be responsible for any expenses should any access along the drainage and utility easements be necessary by the City of Rogers or its permittees.

-        You must submit a Certificate of Survey of the property or and accurate, scaled drawing of the property indicating the location of the house, garage(s), other improvements, and the fence all in relation to the legal property lines.

-        You must submit the make of the fence, height, and a list of materials.

Commercial Requirements

-        In addition to the above requirements, a site plan is required for the installation or alteration of commercial fences.

Fence Permit Fees

The fee for a fence permit is $100.00
