Burn Permit
Burning permits must be applied for 2 business days prior to burning. Applicants must be 18 years of age. Please make sure to follow the restrictions and requirements after obtaining your permit. Residents must abide by all MN statures and local ordinances pertaining to open burning. Any Police Officer or Fire Officer may suspend any recreational fire and/or open burning fires for any reason. If your permit is revoked, you must extinguish fire immediately. Permitted party assumes responsibility for all damages and costs that may result from negligent burning under the permit.
Requirements
Burning Permit hours are 6:00AM to 7:00PM
Piles can be no larger than 10'x10'
Multiple piles must be 25' apart
NO burning if wind speed exceeds 15mph
NO burning within 25' of any structure on permitted property.
Conditions that may cause the spread of a fire must be eliminated prior to ignition
No burning within 50' of an adjacent residence
Prevailing winds must be away from occupied building and public roadways
The fire must be supervised at all times or extinguished if absent or becomes a nuisance
Use a clean burning device to start the fire
Fire cannot be allowed to smolder unattended
Buckets, shovels or garden hoses shall be readily available for use
Only natural wood may be burned. No burning of prohibited materials allowed including treated or painted wood, plastic, rubber, garbage, leaves and grass.

$75- 6 month
Recreational Fires
A burning permit is not required for a recreational fire.
Recreational fires are allowed to a maximum of 3' in diameter and no higher than 3'. Fires shall be kept under control and constantly attended until the fire is extinguished. Fire cannot be allowed to smolder. Buckets, shovels or garden hoses shall be readily available for use.
